Metropolis: Home of Superman

The drawing was my entry to the art contest at the 2011 Metropolis, Illinois Superman Celebration. I then colored it once I got back.

For those unaware, Metropolis IL has a 30 ft Superman statue in front of their court house and the festival happens along the street that runs directly in front of the statue, whereupon the "real" Superman in the picture is looking out over and smiling.

I drew the drawing in spurts of free time throughout the long weekend there at Metropolis, so it feels pretty rushed in a lot of places, but I'm proud of the coloring.

And yes, I realize I draw Superman a lot haha. I try not to limit myself to just drawing him but it just seems the best stuff I do tends to have him as the subject matter. This will probably be the last Superman drawing for a while though.
